The new Hero and Super Hero are Jackson's answer to the one-boat-quiver. The latest iteration of the very popular Hero series, now in it's third generation, is shorter, faster, easier to maneuver, boof and roll, and much more competent when the going gets steep and shallow. The Hero's new slightly rounded hull is less prone to hanging up an edge in shallow steep creeks, yet still has enough edge to carve and surf with ease. Great for beginners as an easy to roll and control kayak, yet with plenty of umph for the most ardent steep creekers and everyone in between. Whether you're looking for a go-everywhere do-everything kayak or looking for a niche micro-creeker, the Hero series is sure to put a smile on your face.

For beginners look for easier to roll, easier to steer and stay on line, and much easier to keep on the surface going through waves or holes.
For intermediate paddlers, you’ll get the same, plus the best boofing you can imagine, and stability in harder rapids, and a much more friendly/fun surfing machine.
For Expert boaters, the creeking and big water capibilities is greatly improved, along with the simple stability which keeps you right side up in harder stuff.

For 2012, Jackson has switched to Linear molding only and has eliminated the Elite models. The Heros now comes standard with a foam seat pad. Sweet Cheeks seat bags can still be purchased as an add-on accessory.
